The Honda S2000 has a wide fan base. Mostly due to its impressive driving dynamics, an open-top configuration that allows you to enjoy the fresh air while pushing it through some tight corners, but also, thanks to it’s tuning happy, naturally-aspirated 2.2 Liter VTEC engine. This engine (internally named F22C1), produces one of the best four-cylinder engine sounds ever, even though in the AP2, it doesn’t rev to those staggering RPM levels of the AP1. However, it still revs happily to redline and fuel cutoffs of 8,000 rpm and 8,200 rpm respectively, mandated by the longer travel of the pistons of the longer stroke engine found in the new generation of the vehicle. Furthermore, the engine comes with peak torque increased by 6% to 220 Nm (162 lb-ft) at 6,800 rpm, while the power output remained unchanged at 237 horsepower (177 kW) – still one of the best power outputs per liter for a road engine.
Even though it’s popularity vaned to the hay days of Fast and Furious, we still see a lot of these nimble little things driving around. The Honda S200 AP2 that we have here, features some classy tuning additions, giving it a rather modern overall look. This particular white Honda S2000 AP2 comes with a set of MOMO Heritage 6 wheels and a MOMO MOD.69 steering wheel.
Made to order, the MOMO Heritage 6 brings the brand’s racing past into the present. The wheels features a modernized classic six-spoke design that is reminiscent of MOMO’s first light alloy wheels that revolutionized the industry back in the 1970’s. Today’s MOMO six-spoke wheel is made using revolutionary rotary forged flow forming technology, a manufacturing process that makes wheels both light and strong. Through a unique combination of heat, pressure, and rotation, the dual-way flow forming process creates a rim area with similar strength and impact ratings to forged wheels with a 15% weight reduction over alloy wheels. In turn, the MOMO Heritage 6 is a uniquely designed wheel that adheres to all the modern requirements and can be used on a wide variety of applications – just like the Honda S2000 we have here now.
On the other hand, the MOMO MOD.69 steering wheel is a great addition for drivers who like to give their cars a contemporary looking wheel with lots of grip and the best driving ergonomics. The MOMO Mod.69 steering wheel features three black anodized aluminum spokes and a wheel wrapped in premium suede, while back finger grooves assist with maximum driving comfort. In addition to that, you’ll find a yellow MOMO logo on the bottom spoke and horn button, giving the vehicle nice pop of color. Perfect for a clean build like this.
